Even though the nickname of this campsite is ‘in the middle of nowhere’ this campsite is located in the midway between two famous Icelandic sights the famous Geysir and the mighty and beautiful Gullfoss waterfall. The Skjól campsite was founded just couple of years ago but develops really quickly. You can find here basic amanities, showers (for 400 ISK), hostel type accomodation and the bar as well.
How to find the Skjòl campsite:
You can find the Skjòl campsite next to the road nr. 35 close to the crossing with the road nr. 30. And actually really in between the Gullfoss waterfall and the Geysir.
