Þjófafoss is a beautiful waterfall on the Þjórsá River in Þjórsárdalur valley, close to the Merkurhraun lava fields. Behind the waterfall stands the prominent Búrfell mountain, while on the other side, you can view the famous Hekla volcano.
Þjófafoss waterfall is located near Highway 26. Turn off onto a local road, and after a few hundred meters, you will reach Þjófafoss.
