Hafnarsandur

Hafnarsandur is a beautiful black beach on the shore of the famous Hornvík bay. An interesting fact is that in its eastern part, it is crossed by a river that visitors wade through to shorten the journey between the Hornvík campsite and the Hornbjarg cliffs. Since the river is on the beach and thus in close proximity to the sea, its depth is significantly affected by the tides. Therefore, if you want to wade through the river, choose a time during low tide.
