Grófarlækjarfoss

Grófarlækjarfoss is one of Iceland’s truly forgotten waterfalls, which you definitely won’t find in any guidebook. Nevertheless, you can enjoy a pleasant walk in the area, for example, upstream along the stream, or sit on stone chairs and have a meal on a stone table, which were built here by trolls. Discover the undiscovered.

Even though the Grófarlækjarfoss waterfall is just a short distance from the Ring Road, it is a bit tucked away. You can find it about 5 kilometers from the village of Hof, heading east towards the Glacier Lagoon. Nowadays, there is a Fosshotel nearby, which can serve as a landmark for you.
