Goðafoss is a 30-meter-high waterfall on the Hollardalsá River. In terms of height, it is much taller than its namesake near Akureyri, but this Goðafoss can be found in the Strandir area in the Westfjords at the beginning of road 643. The waterfall cascades into a small canyon, creating an interesting environment and a situation where you likely won’t find a single spot to view the waterfall in its entirety. There is a parking area near the waterfall, which provides access to the left bank of the river. To enjoy the waterfall and canyon from the other side, it is necessary to ford the river, which splits above the waterfall.
