Dalatangaviti eldri

The old lighthouse from 1895 at the entrance to the Seyðisfjörður bay was built from the funds of Ottó Wathne. It is constructed of basalt on a small rocky elevation. You can reach Dalatangaviti eldri by taking road 953 along the northern coast of Mjóifjörður. After passing the village of Brekka, you will be traveling completely outside civilization, giving the journey a certain charm. By the way, the Dalatangi area is the easternmost place in Iceland that you can reach by car. Oh, and in the summer, the Arctic terns will be quite bothersome here.
