Innri-Hvannagil is a smaller and less known canyon in the Njarðvík area, which can certainly enhance your journey to Borgarfjörður eystri. The Innri-Hvannagilsá river flows through the canyon, and you can walk upstream. From the parking lot by road 94, you will walk about 100 meters and enter between the rhyolite walls of the canyon, which is why it resembles the famous Rainbow Mountains. You can continue for about 500 meters; beyond that, the river fills the entire bottom of the canyon, and the path for the average tourist ends there.
