Hengifoss is not only one of the tallest waterfalls in Iceland, but also a beautiful 30-meter-high waterfall on the Hengifossá River near the town of Neskaupstaður. Here, the river plunges into a small canyon, allowing you to admire the falling water from the opposite side.
You can reach the waterfall on foot after about a 30-minute walk, with convenient parking available in the residential area along the Seldalur road.
